What’s in a name?

One of the things I am most often asked is about Ruan’s name.

Aside from the alliterative quality it has with him being a red squirrel, I think it also sounds uniquely Scottish and has a mischievous quality about it.

But most importantly, Ruan comes from the Gaelic word ‘Ruadhán’ which roughly translates as ‘little red one’ – so it seemed ideally suited.
